Having a culturally diverse workforce allows health providers to truly get to know, connect, and communicate with their patients. A strong diversity within the health care workforce builds awareness that creates a more equitable environment and removes barriers to health care access (Andrews & Boyle, 2016). Having health professionals who are from multicultural backgrounds and are able to speak languages other than English will mitigate the communication gap and ensure patient satisfaction (Andrews & Boyle, 2016). This is so profoundly dysfunctional in my opinion and haven’t actually witnessed this myself and pray that I never do. Other barriers across the nursing profession is for minorities since a young age is limited with educational choices, ultimately causing difficulties for them with gaining admission into any health professional schools (Andrews & Boyle, 2016).
