Throughout my childhood, I was raised in a mono culture community and attended schools where a minority was the majority. When considering an institution I found diversity to be an important factor to take into account, essentially drawing me to NYU. In an environment where people of varying backgrounds come together and join there different minds and perspectives, the mind is bound to become more open. I believe this sort of setting is beneficial as it prepares you for the real world with a better view and understanding of others. College is the ideal place for individuals to grow and to connect, but I feel NYU specially would encourage me to continue becoming a well-rounded individual not only as a student but as a successful member of
