1) How can Hinduism be described as a diverse religion?
Hinduism can be described as a diverse religion for multiple reasons. The first would be the ways in which practitioners of Hinduism worship multiple avatars, especially those of Vishnu, whose favored avatar appears to be Krishna. Second there are different views of Brahman, which all agreed as the Divine Spirit, but the three views discussed in the video, on the trails of world religions Hinduism, are: 1. The universe and Brahman are one in the same. 2. Due to the flaws in the universe, Brahman must be separate. 3.Brahman and the Universe are one are one in the same in their distinction.

Dharma can be summed up as the ideal life, in which no harm is inflicted on anybody. Opposed to the actual human behavior seen in modern caste system, which lends itself to violence in both the workplace and schools.
2) How have sacred texts helped shape the popular worldview? The Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita have been extremely influential and shaping both secular and religious worldviews. As seen by the masses last night, Sanskrit, the holy language in the text, was written on the instruments of Coldplay during the big game halftime show. The same band who is under scrutiny for its depiction of Hinduism in their music video about getting drunk and high.
In regards to religions, it does seem there is not a religion that does not have allegations of ties with the Vedas, the Bhagavad Gita, and other aspects of Hinduism. First of all being Buddhism, which has Buddha being recognized as the ninth avatar of Lord Vishnu, and that it is considered an offshoot of the jnana yoga worship. This section seems to have had a profound effect on me, or at least it has garnered a lot of interest. So much so, that the other night, Friday the 5th to be exact, I had a dream about the teachings in the Gita. It involved me standing in my backyard feeding my chickens being talk to about the importance of the lessons in the Gita, with what I assumed was an avatar of Vishnu.
