UNV-100 Final Project It is enjoyable to me when study at a university with multi-cultural students and professors. What differentiates the students from each other at the AUAF are the racial, ethnical and gender varieties. It is obvious that the students who came from western part of Afghanistan culturally differ from the one who joined AUAF from northern part of the country. From my point of view, diversity in a society, specially, at the university is not only an opportunity for the students to learn about different cultures and demography, but help us to improve the quality of life and education by conspiring of their views and opinions pertaining enhancement of quality education and life.…

The unique value of ethnic studies in colleges and universities is that these studies promote respect and understanding among races, support student success, and teaches critical thinking skills. Ethnic studies by and about racial minority groups presents a different narrative that is shaped partially by histories of oppression in the United States. as well as by the intellectual and cultural resources and traditions of those communities. Ethnic studies evolved from the demands of Black Americans for an education that is relevant and meaningful, that affirms their identities and selfhoods, and that works toward human liberation.…

To many thinking sociologically may seem like an easy task; throughout my sociology career I have overheard many times thinking in a sociological perspective means to think “outside of the box”, but the reality of sociological thinking is much more complex than that. To think in a sociological perspective requires a person analyze the phenomena they are studying critically and pose questions on how and why the phenomena is occurring or has occurred. One requirement of being able to think sociologically is being able to incorporate the knowledge and understanding a person possesses with those of others. By allowing others ideas and perspectives to influence one’s own in a positive manner it allows a person to grow and better understand the content…
