As we get more and more global and explore our horizons, diversity is inevitable for all of us. We deal with it on a day to day basis. A lot of us have left our native places and are travelling around the work for different purposes. People still have myths and believe in stereotypes when they relate anyone to the country they come from. Every initial relationship is based on biases and between people with minimum diversity in their culture. People unknowingly consider the age, gender, religion and social culture of an individual to form an image that forms an impression about every individual.[1] The work experience of every individual shapes their personality. Romana is good with research work and brings ideas to the group. Nikhil being the only guy in the team, often needs to fight a lot to get his ideas through, but he is good at it. Being at such opposite ends, a diverse team is difficult to manage. Everyone needs to struggle to get their thoughts through and the one thing that is extremely common between all of us is, we are stubborn and compete to get things done our way. Virtual communication also does not help in building interpersonal relations [5] The majority of our meetings took place in the bobst library. It helped us develop relationships. It was only in one of these meetings that Nikhil and Romana had a misunderstanding and argued on the opinion about the team task. Though the decision was made in the meeting and we all reached a consensus, the heated argument did not just stay in that room. That night, we all received a mail by Romana describing how she felt that Nikhil was picking a fight against her deliberately and did not respect her opinion. It is strange how interpretations play such a vital role in conflicts and they need to be clarified but everyone has a different approach of handling a conflict. Though Romana preferred clearing out things between the team through emails, Nikhil had no intention of replying to that email. Now here, Nikhil is the guy who plans to resolve this conflict when he meets Romana next, ignorant to the fact that Romana’s interpretations until then could affect the team. I, in one of my conversations with Nikhil, after 3 days told him that if he does not reply to that email then Romana might interpret that her interpretation to the issue is actually correct and what Nikhil did was not a misunderstanding. I insisted on the fact that it was
