The possibility of having superheroes become diverse would be a miracle. Therefore, having the superheroes become part of the L.G.B.T. Community is a thought that would be totally different and definitely welcomed. How many people actually heard of a superhero be a part of the L.G.B.T. Community? The article, “Diversity Comes to Superheroes”, by George Gustines discusses that there characters like; Batwoman, Kevin Keller, Northstar, Iceman, Lily Welsh and Midnighter, who came out of the closet in the comics that they are apart of. Knowing that there are characters and some superheroes being part of the L.G.B.T. Community, this would help any teenager coming out to their family or friends. Iceman was the most recent superhero that have came out as gay in his comic. Iceman actually came out to himself when he had time-traveled back to his younger self with his prying telepathic teammate (Gustines). This caused him to become the most prominent gay character within his comic book. Of course he wasn’t the only superhero or supporting character that came out as being queer. There have been events within other comics that characters have attended weddings that between two gay couples and how there are characters who have been involved their significant being the same sex, that not all people have known about while reading the comics. George Gustines talked about one superhero that many fans have always been so intrigued about. That superhero would be, Midnighter, who is known for his heroic identity and his sexual orientation. This superhero always kept his sexuality a secret, but that is what keeps fans so intrigued by this superhero. They always come back for more and always wonder what will happen next. Community, there have have been a campaign to support of the “Alphabet” anthology, this puts a spotlight on the writers, artists and the cartoonists for their work on the comics that they have put the L.G.B.T. Community in (Gustines). This truly had helped continue the works of many L.G.B.T. comic books and which definitely have its benefits, because the fans love it and want it to continue. The editor in chief of the Comics Alliance had noticed the increase of more diversity within comic books and the characters.
