Diversity Awareness: Effective Negotiation

After reading the Module 8 material and completing the in-class assignments, Diversity Awareness is the one concept that I find to be the most important. Diversity Awareness is the most critical principle of Effective Negotiations to me as an individual because of the environment I grew up in. Raised in a very sheltered home, interacting with different people and groups was not something I experienced until I was in my teenage years. To me, Diversity Awareness has a high personal value because I know, first hand, what negative things can happen when I do not practice Diversity Awareness such as inadvertently offending someone and destroying that relationship.
