Northwestern’s acceptance and furthermore promotion of diversity are the aspects of their community that I value the most. They also have an exceedingly strong biological sciences program that can provide me with unrivaled preparation for medical school or other scientific fields. As an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians welcoming diversity onto a campus is something I believe to be integral to happiness and success because new perspectives bring fruitful ideas to a campus. With the amazing Native American Inclusion Initiative, I trust that Northwestern is somewhere where I would not only be embraced by my Native American culture but where I could find others who would share in the celebration of diversified cultures.
