Since most people are right handed, society has conformed to them being able to turn a page in a book is for “righties”, as well as golf clubs, and even desks at school. Lefties have learned to become ambidextrous since they have had to conform to righties. My experience with this experiment was difficult I never realized how difficult it can be with my daily activities including opening sliding doors, to opening the fridge, opening a twist off bottle, making a sandwich, changing the channel on a remote control, holding utensils, and changing clothes. The importance of understanding diversity and applying it in the workplace is necessary. If someone is unable to do a certain task or might find something difficult there are other coworkers that might have a different way of thinking or going about that certain project. By applying this knowledge in the workplace the organization is able to prosper and grow. In conclusion being able to understand the cultural, ethnic, and gender differences as a manager in a business setting is important not only for the employees but for the organization as well. Learning to realize that we should be able to share our opinions in the workplace and not keep them repressed is critical. Having to do an experiment where all your normal daily activities are to be done with your non-dominant hand expands your mind to think critically, on how to view and do things differently. In a business setting it is imperative to include different types of culture, different ethnicities and involve both male and females to resolve
