Diversity And Diversity

All my life, I have lived in Fairview Park, Ohio. A middle class, inner-ring suburb of Cleveland, its racial/ethnic make-up is 94% white residents. This demographic is essentially repeated in my school, sports, and church. Yet this does not mean I lack an appreciation for diversity, equity or inclusion. I understand that there are people deprived of opportunities or treated unfairly just because of their skin color, or religion, or disability.

I have been exposed to the celebrations and challenges of several cultures by a family member and a good friend. My Aunt Susie is Lebanese and through attending many family gatherings over the years, I have learned about Lebanese history, eaten the food, and participated in rituals such as christenings
