The diverse community issue I selected was poverty impacting senior citizens because of the need to increase and improve community services. Even though there are many services that can assist seniors, seniors are still suffering from hardship. Senior citizens struggle with housing, health care bills, inadequate nutrition, transportation, diminished savings, and job loss. Majority of seniors are living in the community at home after retirement. Government programs do alleviate some financial burden; but it is not enough to maintain their quality of life and independence. Seniors are forced to live on fixed income, which causes a lot of the financial burden. Increasing and improving community services will increase the quality of life for seniors
