Divergent Symbolism

“I have tattoos of symbols of the five factions because I want to be all of them”, he said firmly, “Dauntless, Abnegation, Erudite, Candor, and Amity are as important as each other.” Reading from the beginning to here, you might be guessing “Is this a person who exists in reality?” That’s right, he’s not a movie star, nor an intelligent person who invented new techniques. He is a character from Divergent, he is Four. Four is a person who don’t have the similar characteristic like other main characters in science fiction stories. Instead, he is capable to attack them in a short time precisely in order to end scourge as soon as possible. When he is unhappy about any decisions made by leaders, rather than go against them with violence in the first place, he chooses to negotiate or escape the inequality, which means peace is more important than himself. While other people are still confused by the dictator, he is able to clarify the realistic, thus cleverly protect himself and people beside him. When his mother try to influence him to do something that is contrary to his conscience, he can firmly say no to his mother, no matter how much benefit or reputation he can earn. From knowing his personality, we can find out why is he a special person.
Four is important to me because he taught me to not become a person who is exceptional in one dimension, but to be a person who is distinguished in diverse fields. Just like in the road of studying, academic subjects are not the only important thing. We should enjoy in other activities that we’re interested in, such as music, art, sport, dancing. We can also participate in volunteers’ work, MUN, youth exchange and other activities that we’re interested
