Divergent portrays the way in which they see the future. There are five factions in the movie and the novel by Veronica Roth. Each individual group in which the faction belongs to sees life differently such as Dauntless, Abnegation, and Amity.
Dauntless is known as the brave. They believe in ordinary acts of bravery and in courage that drives one person to stand up for another. They are more like the strong soldiers of the factions. Dauntless are those who are brave, seeming almost fearless. They strive to become courageous and indestructible. The brave guard the fence making sure no one gets in or out. Dauntless go by the color black, they dress in dark black clothing that assists in their lifestyle of combat and preparation. They feel as

The needs of others are valued more than the needs of their own. Members of Abnegation take over the public services in the city. Abnegation makes up the council of Chicago. Their faction is the most moral due to their commitment to unselfishness. The color they often wear is grey and they are very conservative. They wear loose fitting grey clothing so they don’t call attention to themselves. The only accessory they are allowed to wear is a plain watch. I feel as if this group is the only one that maybe cares a tad bit about the future. They want to take control and be in charge. I feel as if Abnegation is the best fit as to who should be in charge. They aren’t trying to play dirty and ruin someone else’s chance of succeeding.
Amity is the peaceful. They value peacefulness and harmony above all else. They are considered happy people, willing to serve, but unlike Abnegation, do not come face to face with people that they serve. Members usually dress in red or yellow. Their factor only demands they wear some amount of the colors. The styles of clothing are loose and comfortable. Children of Amity are seen playing games and singing songs. The children are considered to be very happy. This group wants nothing more than for the world to be full of peace and

Dystopian literature can be very similar between different pieces of writing even though they may not seem alike each other at first. Many dystopian books are different and seem like that once you have finished reading them, but once you analyse them and look deeper you can realise how they are very much alike in many areas. William Golding and Suzanne Collins both use internal and external conflicts to present a bleak warning of the future; this is shown similarly in their novels “Lord of the Flies” and “The Hunger Games” Many characters in both of these novels often struggle with making difficult decisions; this is an internal conflict. In “The Hunger Games” Katniss has to decide whether to run to the cornucopia or run for the forest like her mentor has told her to do, she is having a hard time deciding because it could mean the difference between her winning or losing the hunger games. In “The Lord Of The Flies”…

Ayn Rand’s Anthem is a rebuttal of collectivism. The ideology of collectivism is heavily criticized in Rand’s novella where the oppression of an individual is summarized in the following statement, “What is not done collectively cannot be good” (Rand 73). Collectivity robs the people of their individuality and uniqueness, attributes that are disregarded in Anthem. The need for everything to be done collectively in order to be beneficial for the society is a fallacy.…

In fact, they have many characteristics of a dystopian society in common. A few of these similarities include living in a dehumanized state, widespread use of propaganda, and having restrictions placed on information, independent thought, and freedom.
