According to Digital Trends, Americans use their smart phones 4.7 hours per day. Much of this time on the phone occurs while doing other things such as walking and driving. Although the dangers of smart phone distraction while driving has received lots of attention, distracted walking has received very little. It's easy to see how distracted driving in a two ton car that can potentially kill both the driver and innocent victims is dangerous. However, many don't recognize that distracted walking can be equally dangerous. Stepping in front of a moving two ton car while using a smart phone is just as deadly as driving one while distracted.
