Distorted Stereotypes

Decent Essays
The image available to voters of a candidate from the perspective of the media is a distorted picture, impacted by a number of factors such as the media pushing their own agenda, sound bites taken out of context, the narrative of political rivals against the candidate etc. However, the public perception of a candidate is made out of these attributes, whether this persona is asserted by the candidate themselves or proposed by political pundits, which may be true to the character or a more subjective view based on the politics of the person painting this one or two dimensional picture.
This picture becomes all the more complicated and challenging when the candidate is first introduced to the public as a “spouse “ of a candidate or officeholder.
