Politician Andrei Popov, in his article “Fragmented,” provides four arguments highlighting a fragmented era of new and improved high-tech communication against ideas and public interest. According to Popov, the first argument constitutes that the internet and different technological devices have contributed to sporadically responses rather than to develop a critical thought. The lack of communication has enforced people’s desire to emote rather than use critical thinking in ideas. As the second argument, Popov points out an important issue in which people do not “converse” but instead react and post without developing their argument. The essays opening causes the reader to engage with his ideas because the style is persuasive and the tone is shown by critical opinions about the lack of communication people have from being engage with short opinions and subjective reactions. The essay’s argument is constructed logically by depicting the argument of the author from what is the cause of fragmented reasoning to the different aspects that cause it such as reactions and poor development in the news outlets. The essay is organized by four main ideas that Popov develops further in the body of his essay. For example, the first main idea is that comments in social media and website broadcasts are one way to waste mindful conversations because we are not engaging with thought instead, we are only reacting with feelings of rejection. Another example is when he develops on paragraph eleven that news are interrupted by non-relevant commercials causing the viewers and readers to lose engagement in the issue
