I was just in a angry mindset and was pressed for time because procrastinated to the last day to try and finish i thought i would get over on the sergeants and have no backslash. Even though i knew it was wrong to plagiarize someone else's work i' still did it anyway neglecting my army value of doing what's right when no one is looking. The lack of integrity, respect and personal courage lead my in a path of trouble that should've never happened in the first place but because i'wanted to do my own thing and not so what's right it landed me doing this essay which is a 5000 word essay which is something i never thought would happen and have never had to write an essay this long, not even …show more content…
Respect is to treat people like you would want to be treated, that goes for anyone no matter if its just your fellow battle buddies or if it is someone higher rank than you. For my situation i have disrespected my sergeants by trying to get one over them by doing the bare minimum and not doing what i was asked to do. Looking back on how i for myself in this situation dissent make sense to me and could've been avoided if i just did the right thing all the time and have the personal courage to own up to at least trying to finish the essay and talking to my sergeant to show that i attempted to finish within the time allotted. Nearly twenty years ago, he served as a ranking agent in Aberdeen proving ground (an army training facility in Maryland-Harford County). His book The GAMe: Unraveling a Sex Scandal in The Military is a clear demonstration of Shadley’s facility for morality and justice as well as the love of justice. In this 360-pages-long work published by Beaver 's Pond Press, Shadley exposes mischievous acts of sexual assault that pervaded the military, particularly at his station. These ignominious events followed hot on the heels of another sexual assault incidence in the navy, which was known as the Tailhook scandal.…

The values that Army professionals live by: loyalty, duty, honor, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage are the attributes that the civilian population see in Army. It is every Soldier’s responsibility to uphold these values every time they put on the uniform. Often times though, the immaturity and thoughtless act taint the Army profession. On 3 December 2015, Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced that all branches of the military must open all combat roles to women within one year. This brings new urgency to the issue of rampant sexual assault and harassment in the U.S. military. Roughly 19,000 U.S. servicemen and servicewomen were sexually assaulted or raped last year while serving their country - that is approximately 52 cases per day. Their assailants by-and-large were other service members. Although roughly 80% of cases go unreported, those who do report often face retaliation from their units or commanding officers.…

    • Hi Gregory, you’ve given very detailed and informative definitions of both words. I wonder if you think in society that people commonly miss use both of these terms to rectify their actions? Because I can see many cases where people have used these terms to make their actions have a rightful purpose. For example, the hateful groups who were protesting out side of funerals of military men and woman. These people pushed their views on others and the family members and in this case used censure to push their beliefs unto the military families because of the actions their fallen family member’s choose to take.…

Toxic leadership is the biggest contributor to low morale, undo stress, and most unfortunately the loss of great soldiers. While many of us have experienced toxic leadership at least once in our careers, undoubtedly we have also known great soldiers that have simply had enough and chosen to separate from the Army because of it. To me this is one of the worst effects that toxic leadership can have because it takes guys with an abundance of experience that could have been excellent Commanders and CSMs, and subsequently removed them from the pool. So why wouldn’t Soldiers just wait it out?…

As a soldier it is my obligation to not only complete the task, but to report back to higher on its status, proving to my chain of command my current level of competency. It is a failure for not properly completing the tasks or not promptly notifying my chain of command when I am unable to complete a task in the time allotted.
