In Exodus 32 we see the Israelites right after they are rescued by God’s grace from the evil hand of Egypt. After seeing all the ways God had provided for them, and the miracles that He had Moses perform- they ended up disobeying God by worshiping their own hand made calf. Instead of being patient and waiting for Moses to come back down the mountain- they took matters in their own hands. Even the leadership (Aaron) was lead astray. When Moses heard of this, he ended up commanding those that chose to follow God (The Levites) to go into their camp from start to finish and kill their family, friends, and neighbor. The Levites follow Moses’ command. However that wasn’t there only punishment God bestowed on His people. God ended up placing a plague on His people for being disobedient, as well as making them wonder for 40 years in the desert. Anyone over the age of 20 who disobeyed God would not see the promise land as we see in Numbers 13:35 where it states that those that disobeyed, “meet their end in this wilderness; here they will
