Grim Brother's fairytales are all works of litterature. While, Disney has turned all of them into amimations. Another interesting point is their purposes are distinctive. The Grim's version are mainly to illustrate the cruelness of the real world. In contrast, Disney changed those ferociousness into love and friendship. And the biggest differences is that. From learning about Hercules and the Twelve Labors, and then watching the Disney version of Hercules, I saw that the two are very different from each other, yet share likenesses, Many of the differences that we see between the two are caused by the plot change. The two plots differed from each other, due to the fact that the enemies and allies had been changed. This change by Disney, therefore created the difference that we see between the two. That, and of course, making the movie more family friendly influenced the overall plot. While the Disney movie Hercules is quite different from the original, Hercules and the Twelve Labors, they have several aspects in common.…

We all have our personal heroes that we like to compare to others. Mine is Walt Disney in comparison to Odysseus, king of Ithaca. Odysseus is from an island in the Ionian Sea in Greece, “Ithaca is an island in the Ionian Sea in Greece, which was an important setting in one of the most famous myths of ancient Greece, the Odyssey (Ithaca, 2017).” And Walt Disney is from Hermosa, Chicago, IL. Odysseus is a typical hero we all think of when we hear the word hero on behalf of he faces challenges and uses his Machiavellian and attractiveness to pull him out of trouble, but Walt Disney is a hero we wouldn’t think of for the reason that he lets little kids know that as long as they don’t give up they can carry out anything and if he gave up we wouldn’t…

Many fairy tales tend to have a similar theme, a stereotype, a pattern. These stereotypes are called archetypes, and archetypes are what links the similarities and differences between two stories. " Baldur" and "The Spirit Bride" are both fairy tales that tell about a person going to the underworld to bring back a loved one. In "The Spirit Bride", a warrior was trying to bring back his bride, who died on the day of their wedding, and in "Baldur", a man was trying to revive his brother, who was tricked into death by a trickster, Loki. Both stories sound fairly similar, but there are also many differences in archetypes that set these two stories apart.…

The first major differences in the movie is Hercules parentage. His parents in the original myth are Zeus and the mortal woman Alcmene. The myth depicts that while her husband was in the Trojan war, Zeus came down from Mt. Olympus, disguised as her husband, impregnating her with Hercules. The next day her real husband returned and impregnated her with another child. Zeus was actually married to Hera and Disney probably figured adultery was not a good topic for young children.…

A common misconception among young girls and society is that the happily ever after ending in movies is true, when in fact these stories provide a false perception of a relationship narrative. The love story of that in The Tale of Tulisa has been repeated throughout history by different cultures to portray a similar yet unique message to women of different time and cultures. The plotline of this folktale provides the basis for those as the Iron Heinrich folktale in Germany, accompanied with the movie The Princess and the Frog of Disney’s “American” culture. These three works all depict a similar story, moreover different cultures have taken an original myth and have adapted it to better suit the specific region. The recreation of this narrative…

In the Grimm Brothers’ story the Prince came himself, while in the Disney story, the Prince sent the Duke to find his bride. The way the step-sisters acted is also much different. When the first step-sister got the shoe to fit, the Prince took her away to the castle to be wed, but when he saw there was blood in the shoe, he realized that he had the wrong bride and brought her back, which also happened with the other step-sister. In the Disney tale, the step-sisters only tried to squeeze their foot into the shoe, without any blood or gore.…

The two tales ends as expected; when the prince awakens the princess, the two marry and live happily ever after. On the other hand, in Perrault’s versions, the tale is inconsistent with the idea of the oral traditions. Unlike the Grimm Brothers’ version, the story continues even after the princess is woken up by the prince. For instance, Perrault furthers his tale by narrating about the evil nature of the ogress mother of the princes. The prince’s mother wants to eat his grandchildren and the daughter-in-law but is tricked by the head chef.…
