Globalization is the when countries participate in international trade with other countries in order to raise their economy. And to do business with other countries to expand their company or product being sold to other parts of the world rather than just their own country. Being able to make a product and then export it to another country can help raise the country's economy. While if the business just stays in the one country there isn't a lot of money coming from that. The videos that we watched explained how owning land is key for expanding any businesses while in poorer countries they do not have the right to ownership of land so they cannot expand and sell outside of their country. I knew it was about exporting products from country to country but I never knew of the deeper meaning and how globalization can benefit so many countries. When it comes to a lot of events occuring around the world, a lot of people don't know anything about it and live their life blind to everything going around them. I think I had this problem when it came to the topic of globablization. I never thought about where the clothes I purchased were made and who made them until I watched the videos for the "is globalization good" forum. For the video on Disney's merchandise, I had no idea that the workers were being treated terribly. When I was a kid and I went to Disney World I had no idea that the shirt I bought was made by someone living in poverty and working in awful work conditions. I just thought it was just a shirt, but now that I have started this class and I am learning about globablization I now know about all the issues behind the creation and making of that shirt. In the forum for "how globablization affects me personally" I wrote about how products in stores and how they come from another country so we can buy them. Again, this is something I didn't really start thinking about until I began this class. I hope that globalization will one day reach all the countries in the world to help them get out of poverty and that the more richer countries will open up doors for them to
