The disney princess Mulan wasn’t the only woman who dressed and pretended to be a man to fight in war. Although Mulan may have been a Disney character, this is something that happened in real life. During the American Civil War, real life women dressed up as men to be able to fight in the war. These women had to conceal the fact that they weren’t men because there were, and still are, people who don’t believe women should be in the military although they are perfectly capable of doing so. Women should be respected to fight in the military because it’s their own choice, women bring different skills, however, people may say women need protecting. Women have equal rights to fight in the military as men do because it’s their own personal choice.
