The article “Dismembered human feet keep washing up on beaches in western Canada” started off with a video clip. In the video, a woman was stated her concern on the statement that was made about the foot that had washed ashore, the statement of “there is nothing to see here”. Continuing the conversation, the men stated that this foot was the 14th foot that had been washed ashore around the beach of the Salish Sea in the last century; and one of the only connections between all 14 of the foots is that no other body parts were found. The women then states the fact that dismembered feets are only found on the coast around this area. The women finds this disturbing since if feets were found in other areas, police could reach the conclusion that these feets belongs to people who choose to suicide or accidently fell off the coast. …show more content…
After the video, the author explained the story behind the conversation. A feet had been found on a Gabriola Island on Sunday, May 13, 2018, by a man who was out for a stroll. As mentioned earlier, this foot was the 14th feet that had been washed ashore in the last century. Since nine out of 14 of the feet were identified by the police and recorded as accidents, the police does not suspect foul play on the finding. Although all of the feets were found around the same area, there were no evidence that proved a connection between the 14 cases. Lastly, the author stated that authorities claimed the reason behind the fact that only a foot was found was because the decomposition of other parts of the body and how the foot did not decompose due to the protection the shoes had
