Dishonesty In The Military

Dishonesty from senior military leaders plays a significant impact while undermines the public trust that has been entrusted by the American people. Our Nation has place a special relationship of trust and confidence in our military leadership this relationship is validated by the honor and support given by all individuals in our country. When our senior military leaders engage in unethical behavior it influence the way society see our military thus creating a monumental affect due to our commitment under oath to defend and support our constitution. As noted in our pre-reading notes anytime our military leaders commit an unethical behavior violation “ it creates influence of observing the unethicality of another person in that it simply changes one’s understanding of the social norms related to dishonesty”. In other words our credibility diminishes which generates trust issues towards our leadership and the military as a whole. …show more content…
Honoring public trust is important for our military leadership support based because of the many factors affected when a violation occur such as order and discipline within the ranks, recruitment of new troops most importantly the vote or support of the people to accomplish our job both abroad or domestic. Dishonesty from senior military leadership undermines our allies’ (International public) trust as well, which can be catastrophic to our national security and the way we deal with foreign
