Disdained Personal Values

Acceptance is a part of life. In the short story The Foundations of the Earth, acceptance seemed to be the basis of all controversy. Religious and personal values appear to be disdained at one point in the story. Religious traditions were not conformed by and human differences are confronted questioning personal values due to death of a loved one. As conflict arises, acceptance and toleration help to persevere past closed minds. Values, beliefs and characteristics differ between individuals. In the short story, one man values the word of God opposed to another man who values his responsibilities no matter the day of the week. Morton Henry, had no direct intention to bother others by working on his land, but Reverend Barden took it upon himself
