Death is a touchy subjective for everyone. It affects not only the patients that face it but also the entire team of providers caring for those patients. From everything I’ve seen on my rotations thus far, I think patients and health providers are hesitant to utilize hospice services. Personally, I think most of the reason for this lies in the fact all people view death entirely differently and discussing likelihood it can be very difficult for both patients and healthcare providers alike. It is this lack of communication about death and dying that I feel causes many patients to view hospice care in such a negative light.1 My internal medicine rotation in Monroe allowed me to experience hospice care
