1. Even when there is a clear policy question evident, it is best that questions of fact, prediction and policy are taken into consideration first and foremost. Questions of fact must be constructed into a story or thesis to determine whether or not something is true or false or did or did not happen, this is essential because the formulation of your story then generates your position(s). Questions of prediction are the likelihood of an occurrence in any situation. When investigating questions of prediction be sure to develop if-then statements to focus and clarify on any important issues, analyze the problem, use evidence to determine any cause and effect possibilities, and evaluate evidence to be sure it is credible. Lastly, questions of policy should always imply a problem, that is limited in scope and be controversial. When a problem is present, it must be solved but it must also remain limited so that it can be analyzed by your group thoroughly in time. In addition, questions of policy should be controversial because groups are given a chance to consider all alternatives to agree which are the best.

When starting your investigation be aware of what each member of your group is knowledgeable of for your topic. If you began any kind of research, especially electronic, you can back paddle your progress to your end goal due to lack of preparation. Moreover, when groups take time to learn each other’s strengths and expertise, they also figure out how to learn together which helps avoid conflict or repetition research. The “divide and conquer” process soon follows shortly after. Coordination amongst your group is imperative because everyone will be focused on their part of the project which leads to efficiency and success.
