Research Question Due to many survey research questions being posed so frequently and answered by different research participants, it is very important to know what about the question will affect the answers that the participants give. The population of this study was the students of Washington State University Pullman, and they were given multiple
The purpose of this article is to report the results of these research questions given to WSU Pullman students to help the understanding of how researchers have a huge effect on the answers given by participants in surveys and interviews, because the information is often flawed.

For the first variable they used by changing the location of the instructions and questions, they were able to find significant results. If the Instructions were before the question, it did not really affect the amount of yes respondents, but had significant change for either answering no or simply not answering at all.
For instructions given before the question only 19.1% of participants answered no and when the instructions were given the instructions after the question, 40.3% answered no.
For missing answers when instructions were given before 26.2% of participants missed the question, but when the instructions were given after only 4.8% of participants missed the questions.
For the Variable of Size of answer space there was also significant results. Varying the size of answer space both affected number of words respondents gave as well as the number of themes they provided. First they tried by manipulating the questions by adding lines to the answer spaces. The longer the answer line was or if there were multiple answer lines made participants give longer and better answers to the question given. By using a directional error in the answering area gave results showing that respondents focus on about 2 degrees (8-10 characters) of eye site when answering

What I liked
I liked the fact that these researchers are trying to answer new questions, while using many forms of research to identify their answer. It is an important and confusing question, which was asked, but I liked the fact this was the first article I have ever read on the specific topic.

Problems
1) It was conducted only by students at Washington State University, which is a large population, but it is a population of people who are all attending the same school, and I believe it would be better to use this study on multiple schools not just colleges, where people might have different opinions or more experience answering survey/questionnaires
2) Because it was just WSU Pullman students, it is not that big of a community and people could have been talking to each other about the study
3) There could have been maturation effects during this study because it was done during multiple times.
4) This study should probably be replicated because there could have been mistakes in the fact that it is simply generalizable to the WSU Pullman campus and is not generalizable the entire world by any sense.

After completion of the Kaplan diagnostic test, I had overall 47.2% answers correct. I understand that my score is below average, and I have to work more on safety and infection control, psychosocial integrity, pharmacological/parental therapies, implementation, and management of care. Indeed, I had the lowest score in those areas. Overall, I scored above average in most of the nursing process categories. I scored 63% in assessment, 64.7% in diagnosing, 55.6% in planning, 26.9% in implementing, and 41.2% in evaluating.…

Although Gerbner and Gross hired three third-party commercial survey research organizations to minimize biases in how the questioning was conducted (Gerbner, Living). However, additional biases could have potentially included a limited sampling size, a social desirability bias, and/or an acquiescence bias. With the personal nature of the study and the dependence on polling something as abstract as a perspective, there are many variables. With only having three surveys with a total of 2,010 participants, there was a limited sampling size. Based on the questions asked by the questionnaire, it could have also been very easy for participants to fall into the social desirability bias—exaggerating or downplaying their true thoughts or actions to meet the…

After they were selected, they would be tested using a modified survey already used in multiple studies. This survey contained a total of 32 statements, and the students were asked to determine if they agreed with the statement or not using a “7-point Likert-type scale,” 1 being strongly disagree while 7 being strongly agree (Cory, 2015, 272).…

Generally, the format is simple and easy to follow; the directions are clear and concise; the question order is logical; the phrasing is clear and understandable. The response strategy is appropriate to elicit participation; it eliminates the spirit of reluctance to answer, as evoked by open ended questions some participants experience due to the lack of knowing what or how to answer. For the majority of the questions, the participant is merely required to select the most appropriate response. Contrarily, the questionnaire’s design hinders thorough participation.…

A group of students decide to do a survey to see how many students on Belmont’s campus are good piano players. They set up a table inside the Wilson Music Building from 9-11am on a Thursday. Four students are handing out small flyers with a number to text if you are a good piano player or if you are not. Now this survey is already set up to have a few different types of bias. If the survey is taking place in the Music building, this means that only the people that have classes in the Wilson or are going to the practice rooms early in the morning in the Wilson are going to be able to participate in the survey.…
