Persuasive language is used even without knowing it. Such as when you use pity to be given something, even as small as a cookie. In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare Mark Antony, Caesar's loyalest friend, uses this persuasive language. In Antony’s famous speech he uses pathos and logos to convince the people to avenge Caesar’s death. Mark Antony used pathos; which is emotional appeal, specifically grief to persuade the crowd. Antony first brings the crowd to reminisce the past “remeber[ing] / The first time ever Caesar put it [mantle] on”(3. .171.). Antony is trying to have them remember Caesar in his prime, how he had helped and his people. Antony was stricken with grief; therefore, he used it to his advantage, saying,
