While large executive compensation packages are standard, not just industry-wide, but in most markets the world over, in the non-profit sector they are misdirected. Perhaps that is indicative of a greater society-wide problem—the growing income disparity between the average worker and the CEO. With such large amounts of donated funds going to top executives, the question begs answering: who is going to hold these organizations and executives accountable? Non-profit organizations mostly rely on donations or subsidies to exist, and it is in their best interest to have top talent to bring in the most money possible.
