The patient in your scenario did not perceive diabetes is a disease. I agree with you, the term of disease in the patient’s perception will be a poor state of health as you stated. As Risjord (2010) discussed “the concept of health is normative, it is clearly a human good. It is a part of what we consider human flourishing, and all humans try to maintain their health or recover it when lost” (p. 63). In this case can reflect the different the value between of nurse and patient.in description of the word “disease”.
