After completion of my undergraduate degree at UMBC, I will go on to get my masters degree and doctorate in the field of biochemistry. Of course my education will not stop when I stop being a full time student. I will learn through personal experiences while I am working. In addition, I will continue to take college classes while working to stay up to date in the ever expanding world of technology.
b. Discuss your career goals.
Through genetics, I will cure a disease that plagues humanity. My dedication, coupled with my research during my undergrad years at UMB, will allow me to do so. The field of genetic research continues to evolve rapidly with the knowledge …show more content…

My most recent scholarly activity would be the completion of my math extended essay for IB. Writing the essay took copious hours of researching, writing, and revising. However, all of my work was rewarded with the knowledge I gained not only on my topic, but also on the process of writing a large research paper.
Another one of my scholarly activities is being co-Captain of my school's Academic Quiz Team. We answers questions from any academic subject. It is scholarly in the research I put into preparing the case. However, it is also a creative involvement because as a team we have to be creative in the way we word and reword direct and cross examination questions to avoid objections. A creative activity of mine is making cards for breast cancer patients and selling cards to support breast cancer research. My mother and I make the cards in order to donate and sell the cards to our local Breast Cancer Awareness chapter. The cards are given to patients; meanwhile, the funds are given to support the cost of treatment and fund research.
In addition to Mock Trial and making cards, last year I played in the pit orchestra for my school's musical production. I was in orchestra up until my Senior year. It does not fit into my schedule this year due to the IB diploma program. However, I am now involved in my school's drama club. These are both creative activities because I am either using my instrument or my words to express a story to an audience.
