I started throwing in sixth grade mostly because I felt like my family was pressuring me. They said that because I was strong I would be able to throw well. I was able to understand the techniques and able to throw the discus farther than a lot of people from the start. My furthest throw the first year was 120 feet and by the middle of last year before I had to stop I was throwing almost 200 feet if I remember correctly and my average is 190 feet. That is only 62 feet shorter of the furthest discus thrown according to the Genesis Book of World Records. Even though throwing is difficult sometimes it is still an amazing experience to go through. I think that the most important thing to remember while throwing is to remember to step out of the back of the pit or else whatever throw you made will not count. I have made this mistake many times including one of my farthest throws and it really messes with your overall placement at the
