Discriminatory Identification Report

In conducting an Identity interviews as a Customer Service Officer I encountered an applicant who was dissatisfied with the interpreter that was provided as being incompetent but I reassured the applicant that the interpreter was capable. I observed during the interview, using my Credibility Assessment Interview Techniques (CAT) that some of the information given by the applicant was inconsistent and after further probing questions the answers were not convincing.

I verified documentation provided by the applicant i.e. copy of a doctor letter and taking into account the feedback given by the interpreter relating to the credibility of the applicant during the interview I did not let this influence the outcome of my final decision.
