Discrimination in education is the act of discriminating against people belonging to certain categories in enjoying full right to education. It is considered a violation of enunciated human rights. People are discriminated by their age, race, color, national origin, disability, or sex. They are categorized by Civil Right Acts which include, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for race, color, and national origin, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 for sex discrimination, Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 for discrimination of disabled humans, and Age Discrimination Act of 1975. To begin, race is a big factor that plays in with discrimination in education such as in schools and people’s everyday jobs or careers. Racism is used in many ways of bullying such as name calling, excluding, teasing or physically being bullied or verbally. It also greatly affects the learning in schools. Students who are being bullied upon racism would not want to go go to school or feel scared. They can have trouble finding friends and communicating or even self confidence.
