Throughout history, how has the Irish people have been discriminated against? I think that the Irish people were the most discriminated against immigrants. The year was 1847, and it was in the winter, and my family and I had just arrived in America. We have been looking for refugee ever since the potato famine broke out in 1845. We heard they had food and work in America, so we came, but now we are here no one wants to hire us. I have done all of my schooling, and can speak three languages, but still people think we are uncultured. As I walk down the icy street in the snow, and can’t feel my limbs do to improper clothing. I am not asking to be treated like a king, but all I want is a job that will feed and clothe my family. In the distance
