Discovery Wheel Reflection

Decent Essays
Before I beginning do The Discovery Wheel, I thought it would be like an activity that tells me about my study skill. On the activity said this will tell me about what kind of student I am and what I wanted to be. I thought my result will turn out all very low. I think myself is not the types that like to read, take note in class or have a good memorize nothing like that. That is just how I was in high school.

When I finished the activity, the wheel is not smooth. The line goes up and down. And yes, almost all of them are very low specially the diversity. In that I wasn’t surprise at all. In class I’m very quiet and not talk a lot to make friends with people. I think I’m not so good at talking with people even I’m working at restaurant

It’s impossible to be good at everything and I don’t want that. I know that I can’t be good at everything doesn’t mean I don’t want to try to be the best that I can be. Now I know that in the activity shows me that the notes section is higher than I expected which is surprise me at first, so now I can work harder in that. In the lowest sections like diversity I also really need to work extra hard in that because I need that in school same as in attitude which is I need that in everywhere. Now I’m working on my reading, I’m taking reading class right now in acc. After I saw he results in my health section, I know eventually that I need to improve that part. I working and go to school at the same time. Sometime I don’t get enough rest because I also have a lot of homework in all the classes that I have to get them done, so I can’t just go sleep after a long tired day from work. I have to stay up late to finish all of my homework and wake up early for my morning classes. I don’t eat healthy food like vegetable. I drink a lot of soda and not taking any vitamin because I hate ant kind of medicine that come in the capsuled type. The score of the activity made me look back and understanding what I should have done to get better in this. This part I the easiest and also hardest to do. What is think I can do to fix this is to make a good schedule for work and school. Find the time for homework, study and exercise. I truly believe that those will help me a lot in this health

This year I decided to challenge myself academically. I made the decision of taking four AP classes and math analysis so, to say the least it has been a difficult journey. In addition, out of all the classes I took I struggled the most with AP Chemistry. The material is pretty difficult to understand, even after spending a couple hours to review my notes some things would still be a little blurry. I was failing my test.…

Volunteering at The Circle Center was a learning experience is multiple ways, learning in the context of course work, learning about people and their lives, and learning about myself. This experience has helped me increase my self-awareness and realize that I am very introverted and shy when it comes to talking to and interacting with new people. While communicating with participants I noticed that I tend to shift my attention to other things after a while and my eye contact is lost. This is a serious mishap in my communication skills that I need to improve because it can negatively affect my relationship with future clients as it may make them feel as if I am not interested in listening to them, let alone work with them. I also learned that…

The reason for this was because of my beliefs in self-teaching myself to learn the basics with additional help from other sources. However, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to be. Therefore, I had to pay to get taught what I could have done on my own, at least that is what I convinced myself then and there.
