“Discovering Nature” is a PSA Central Campaign to motivate children and young adults to engage in fun outdoor activities. Children in the current generation spend much less time outdoors than the generations before them. The flood of media devices and convenience of said devices for constant stimulation has changed our children’s generation and the generations that come after ("Discovering Nature"). The outdoors has a positive effect on children, helping build their imaginations and their desire to explore. Using juxtaposition and comparison the following ads show the difference between a boy who enjoys nature and one who spends all his time inside.
“A recent study from Australia found that of the 1975 children surveyed, 37% of children spent less than half an hour a day playing outdoors after school, and 43% spent more than 2 hours a day of screen time (i.e. watching TV, videos or playing computer games).” Studies say the leading causes are due to the growth in our populations, the shift of the lion’s share of families to a suburban lifestyle, and the change in our society as it grows progressively connected

Juxtaposed below is the little boy sitting on a dense forest floor watching a dense swarm of fireflies. The room above is very bland by comparison they strategically use light dull colors without any definitive focus standing out to catch your eye; however, in the forest scene below everything is vibrant. The first part seen are the singular fireflies darting in front of the boy and the sun behind them poking through the lush green foliage of the trees all around the boy. The purpose of the setting is to show the contrast between nature and staying indoors. Showing how beautiful the outdoors in compared to the dull cast of the inside is to prepare us to believe its superior
