Soft drinks and citric juices are the top contenders in dental erosion. The reason being there are acids contained in these drinks that dissolve any hard surfaces of the teeth that are exposed, such as the enamel. If the protective enamel is gone, the inner part of the teeth are left exposed. This leads to sensitivity. Also, not only can these acids dissolve outer surfaces, it can also damage the internal parts of one’s teeth; thus leading to the saliva’s ability to repair the teeth weakened.

If someone were to eat and then immediately brush their teeth after, the aggressive brushing brushes away the softened and weakened enamel.
