Title: Disciplinary Scenarios and Strategies

In today’s classrooms whether it’s at schools, colleges or universities there are disciplinary problems to be found. However there should be classroom discipline and management present and both the students and teachers should be well aware of it. Classroom management is a term used by teachers to describe the process of ensuring that classroom lessons run smoothly despite disruptive behavior by students. The term also implies the prevention of disruptive behavior. It is possibly the most difficult aspect of teaching for many teachers; indeed experiencing problems in this area causes some to leave teaching altogether.

Respect comes from both ways and to get respect one needs to earn it; the student may be popular and show the class that they can be in control of the teacher but it does not work like that because the teacher can give poor marks because of the disrespect they are getting, it is wrong to do such a thing but sometimes the student need to know that not everything they do is right or acceptable.
According to Micheal Linsin (2009)
The most effective way to handle disrespect is to dispassionately follow your classroom management plan and enforce a consequence. Enforcing classroom rules should include a rule specifically for disrespectful behaviour- with an attitude of indifference strengthens your authority and classroom management effectiveness. When the disrespect problem arises your classroom management plan should do its job, sending out the message that anyone who engages in disrespect will be held accountable, however if your first consequence upon a student breaking a rule is a warning, then it is not a strong enough response to disrespect. You should then inform the head of the grade or principle about the problem if it cannot be dealt with the parents of the student should then be called in and further actions can take place if the problem is not solved. This is one strategy that can be used and can be successful when it is done the correct way.
