What is disc golf? It is the game that combines Frisbee and golf into one game. You throw a Frisbee disc down a hole and make it into a basket in as least amount of shots as possible, just as similar as you would play golf. In disc golf the courses are measured in feet rather than yards as what golf is measured in. It may not be a very well known sport but you would be surprised how many people play the game. It has been announced that the sport will make its first appearance in the 2016 Olympic games in Rio. It is one of the few sports that you can teach and coach yourself the game. It is a great game to play and once you have your Frisbee discs it’s free to play whenever and however long you want. It is a friendly environment where you can meet plenty of great people who have a passion for the game and are …show more content…
To play the game of disc golf you will need certain types of Frisbee discs. You wont be able to just take out a regular Frisbee that everyone is familiar with and expect to play the game. The types of Frisbee discs you will need are around 10 inches in diameter and are a lot thinner and usually a bit heavier than the regular types of Frisbees. Most people that you see who play the game and have a passion for it have anywhere from six to 13 Frisbee discs. Why do you need several discs to play? You need a variety of Frisbee discs because every Frisbee disc does something different than the others. To get a better understanding of that, try playing an actual game of golf using only three clubs. It wouldn’t be easy.
