Anticipation. Longing. Disappointment. Gary Sinise falls short on his attempt to bring an amazing classic novel to life. In the movie everything is not clear and it rushes through scenes. On the other hand in the book you understand not only who they are but what they are feeling and this causes you to feel emotion.
The first scene in the movie Of Mice and Men is a semi action packed scene in which Lennie and George are being chased by people on horseback with guns. The scene is only semi action packed because there is actually no fighting in the scene. The scene also leaves you with suspense because you want to know what they did and why they are chasing them. Even though this scene isn’t completely action packed it is probably the most

The whole book in which the movie is based on is all about George and Lennie trying to earn enough money to buy there own land. Owning this land is what they dream about, that is why it is there American Dream. The book shows how hard it is to achieve the American Dream because George and Lennie have been to multiple ranches trying to earn enough money and even when there is a real possibility that they could actually buy the land someone happens and the dream completely escapes their grasps. Some of the other themes in the movie and book is loyalty and friendship. These are important ideas because the the movie tests the loyalty and friendship that both Lennie and George have with each other. Loyalty is not just tested with George and Lennie, it is also tested between the relationship between Curley and Curley’s wife because Curley’s wife doesn’t really love Curley, and she is mad at him because she could have been in the movies and been famous. Friendship is also a big part of the people working on the ranch including George, Lennie, Candy, Slim, Curley, Carlson, Whitt, and Crooks. Friendship is important for these people because they work together and it is important that they can work well …show more content…
The way that John Malkovich portrays Lennie in the movie is sort of delayed because he cannot react fast enough when he is told something. Also he is portrayed as having a child like mind. Also the way that Gary Sinise portrays George shows that George is forgiving because of all the times Lennie messed up he still cares for him, also George is smart, and friendly. George doesn’t go anywhere looking for trouble, all he wants is to earn enough money to buy the land with Lennie. The way Casey Siemaszko portrays Curley shows that Curley likes causing trouble and being a nuisance to others because he can’t get in trouble but the other people can. Also he shows how Curley is paranoid about his wife getting into it with other workers on the ranch, and this causes him to have anger problems in which he takes out on people that are bigger than him because he knows that they can’t hurt him but he can hurt them. This causes problems for the people on the ranch because that makes them angry at

Based on the text, Firstly, i would would feel sympathy for George because looking after Lennie is frustrating and it causes him problems. This can be seen early in the first section of the book when Lennie and George are travelling to the farm that they are due to start work on and enter a clearing where Lennie starts to drink from a pond: “Lennie!” he said . “Lennie, for God sakes don’t drink so much.” Also i feel sympathetic for Curley wife because I feel Curley's wife is the most depressed and lonely character in the novel.…

The movie Of Mice and Men is one of a classic American Literature, written by John Steinbeck during The Great Depression. The story contains a plot that traces a journey of two characters, George and Lennie, who migrates around to look for a job. I personally have read this book few years ago, and I was really interested to read because it involves realism in it. The character George and his friend Lennie had nothing in the world except each other and lived with a dream that one day they will have their own land. The movie was interesting in a way that it tells us a lot on human condition and presents a great theme of isolation, vision of American dream and loss of paradise.…

Breaking down this quote into parts, the first conflict creates action then action creates a character. First, conflict creates action means when there is a conflict people will often take action to stop the conflict. An interpretation of action creates a character is how an action can shape a character, and how others would judge or think about the character. Conflict in a story is important because with out the conflict there would be no plot.…

The American Dream is a term used to express the idea that in America, through hard work, someone can attain success and prosperity. The ideas of the American dream have been around for centuries. Everyone has their own version of the American Dream. Some believe the American dream is simply a myth, and some believe it is real. In “The Pursuit of Happyness” by Gabriele Muccino and “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, the authors have different views on the American Dream; Steinbeck believes the American Dream is unachievable while Muccino believes the American dream is attainable but only with hard work and enough ambition.…

Working and Wondering California's plains consist of various farm lands and have contained some of the most nameless men, they are only driven by what could be, not by what they have in the present. In the novella Of Mice and Men, John steinbeck uses the literary devices of symbolism, imagery, tone, and characterization to illustrate the message that for people to remain motivated, they need to stay true to their dreams. Without dreams, the meaning of life is lost because nothing is left to look forward to. Everyone seeks what they may have in the future, because they believe that dreams can come true, and the realization that they can live in their perfect image of life keeps them working and striving in what they do. Lennie and George, the main characters, are binded together by only the dream that they share, and their friendship.…

Violence was a common theme at the ranch physically, emotionally, and psychologically. This is brought out through the depiction of women as well as the physical violence that occurred.
