Disadvantages Of Year Round School

For years, people have acknowledged the downside of the traditional school schedule. Politicians, educators, and some parents have decided to switch to the modern year rounds schedule. Despite the year round schedule , students will still attend the same 180 days of school but the 10 week vacation is broken up into several 3 week breaks throughout the nine month period. It also influences a multitrack method. To clarify, it means that some students and teachers taking a break while others are on campus. Educators and politicians have long since recognized that the summer vacation has a number of disadvantages. Some drawbacks include loss of learning retention and wasted time focused on reviewing work rather than starting a new subject. The switch to year round education may be bad news some parents or students who depend on the 3 month vacation and could also mean more money out of taxpayers' pockets funding more class time.
