Moreover, The Giver discusses, “‘You’ll be able to apply for a spouse, Jonas…’” (Lowry 96). Comparatively, the people do not even have the choice to pick who they want to live with for the rest of their life in fact they have to apply for a spouse. This is impossible can you imagine writing an application for a spouse. It should be up to the people who they want to live with. Living in Sameness is like living under the rule of someone in which nor do have the choice of your career nor the choice of your family. What is the point of living a place where you do not have the freedom you deserve, the freedom of choice and the freedom of speech.
