This curriculum was designed at first to impart knowledge to learners through a method of teacher cantered approach OBE (Outcome Based Education). This educational approach based its concern on educational goals (outcomes) that after every learning to experience each student must have achieved a certain outcome after teaching and learning and later got developed into NCS (National Curriculum Statement). NCS provides what is expected of learners at the end of a learning process and during NCS the concern was the incorporation of OBE in developing our education standard, where learners were still not involved during didactic. This two curriculum were tested scientifically and were observed through our senses. That this approaches did not teach learners critical thinking skills but instead were teacher focused in which learners were not given the opportunity to discover facts on their own but instead the educator will be the one going out to make these discoveries for learners. They later introduced CAPS (Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement) which provides what content is to be covered as well as how the teacher will plan, assess and teach during the time allocated for each subject. This approach allows the teacher, learner and the community to have their role in helping learners to be better civilized individuals in our communities, it also allows the teacher to see …show more content…
Because if the teacher discover facts for learners this does not teach learners responsibility. According to my knowledge this shows that if learners discover knowledge or facts on their own. This helps learners to develop their mental capabilities and uplift their self-esteem, because if they learn from their experience this allows them not to make mistakes in the future, which will nurture them to be better individuals in the future. Allowing learners to learn from their experience helps the educator to discover which learner need helps or guidance in their learning process. This again helps future teachers to come with a different attitude in the field of teaching, which is guiding learners. At the same time it is a disadvantage because our curriculum has a time frame that forces teachers to have complemented a certain chapter at a specific time and this again hinders inclusive education in such a way that the teacher becomes unable to help learners with different barriers to
