Pros And Cons Of Communism In The United States

The United States of America is the land of the free and the home of the brave according to the Star-Spangled Banner, the country’s national anthem. Americans tell their children from a young age that capitalism persists as the only economic system that works, that communism exists as an evil form of government. Many Americans look down on communism because many leaders of communist countries have corrupt actions. Instead of following the design and intention of communion by distributing the wealth among the people, the leaders take most of it for themselves. Americans tell each other that capitalism equals freedom, and perhaps in a way this is true. But what else does capitalism imply? It causes the oppression of many. Capitalism puts people against each other, instead of bringing them together and encouraging the advancement of society as a whole. There are many disadvantages of capitalism, according to the book of Ecclesiastes such as with time, all endeavors will be forgotten and are not unique. Advantages of communism, however, are that coming together as one makes a society stronger than fighting for the most profit and that only with others one can find meaning in life. Perhaps instead of trying to find happiness in a society where one climbs over others to get to the top, people should try to find a way to raise everyone up, bringing society up as a whole. Maybe America should focus less on helping the top one percent of the population flourish while allowing so many citizens suffer in poverty, and focus more on figuring out a way to make communism work in its intended way and help everyone. After all, America is one nation, indivisible and should start acting like it. Americans using communism as intended provides the only possible way this could work, and for this to happen, more research needs to be
