Capitalism means that private entities own the means of production, and it is not owned by the state. Like any other economic systems, there are advantages and disadvantages. A disadvantage in Capitalism is that people who are not of the competitive nature usually do not tend to fare well in a capitalistic economic system. The people do not just get their needs met like they would in a communistic society. Their needs are met by how wealthy they are and how well they can thrive in a capitalistic economy. An advantage to Capitalism is that the people get the products they want because of the competition, and they get it at a somewhat desired price vs the price being outrageous because of the lack of competition. Capitalism also leads to innovative people who want to make the best product possible so that the people that are in demand will want to buy their product and not someone else’s. There are two 30 year old’s that are both kind and good with people. One of them has always been a competitive person and has always figured out a way to will himself to success. On the other hand, there is the other thirty year old who, although kind and good with people, has never been one for competition and has always just withdrew from something or gave it up if somebody else desired what they wanted. If you were to throw both of these type of people into a capitalistic economy, one of them would definitely excel over the other. The one who has the characteristics of being a competitive natured person who always finds a way to get the job done will thrive more in a capitalistic society and will become wealthy. On the other hand, the other man who is not a competitive natured person and has always had a knack of just letting go of what he truly wants will more than likely not be able to excel in a capitalist economy.
