In 2008, an amendment was made to the ADA, which broadened the scope of covered disabilities. Under this amendment, what was considered a major life activity became wider to include activities such as eating, standing, concentrating, etc. Additionally, it also included disabilities that could be mitigated with accommodations, such as poor eyesight and corrective lenses or conditions that can be corrected with medication. The ADA requires that any business open to the public must also provide accommodations to make it accessible for disabled customers.
