The world of medicine has advanced through the years and with this the Department of the Healthcare Public Relations has advanced too. Direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing was introduced into the medical world about ten years ago and since then it has changed the way the public perceive the path to healthcare communications. While DTC marketing strategy is considered to be the best approach amongst all others, there are other areas under the healthcare public relations that too has evolved over the years that need to be given credit. During the course of this paper, there will be discussions about the different healthcare sectors that are constantly undertaking new and challenging issues and opportunities with subsequent positive results. Clinical trials are behavioral research studies based on a human being that is usually performed to answer complex medical questions. Electronic patient records have proved to be more reliable and efficient compared to hand written records. Nowadays, some hospitals’ are trying to advance themselves further; for instance, they have introduced bar codes on hospital bracelets, but due to poor marketing skills, they aren’t getting as many patients as they should. Marijean Lauzier, President and CEO of the Racepoint Group, claims that there are so many medicines to choose from these days when compared to the ones manufactured a few years back, that there is a “core need for brand building” now. The exuberant increase in same type of medicinal products has succeeded in creating a financial burden on the healthcare system. Hence, it has become extremely important for the marketing sector to study and market the best product to the hospitals so that the finances are used efficiently into the correct medicinal
