In general, intellectual property ethics involves fair treatment, moral obligation to reveal the originator, and the compensation of the work. Company employee’s intellectual property ethics includes the following (Global Ethics Solution):
• Protecting the company’s intellectual property and act responsibly with the sensitive information of vendors, customers, contractors, and other business partners.
• Using confidential information only for the purpose for which it was intended.
• Sharing confidential information only with employees who need it to do their job.
• Clearly identifying all email communications with confidential markings.
• Delivering all notes, records, data, and equipment back to the company upon separation from the company.

Direct-to-consumer is both beneficial and detrimental to the public health. As I am against of the marketing methodology, on this paper I will present the detrimental effect of it to the public health. I would say the marketing promotions may contain false or misleading information, and does not provide enough information the risks and negative effects of the drug. According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, seventy-eight percent of physicians believe their patients understand the possible benefits of the drug very well or somewhat, compared to 40 percent who believe their patients understand the possible risks, and 65 percent believe the advertisement confuse patients about the relative risks and benefits of prescription drugs. In addition, about 75 percent of physicians surveyed believed that advertisement cause patients to think that the drug works better than it does, and many physicians felt some pressure to prescribe something when patients mentioned Direct-to-consumer (DTC). The numbers show clearly how people are misled and confused about the drugs because of the promotions. Some people mentioned one of the advantage of the promotion is that it could be a reminder for patients to take their medicine. I believe there are lots of other better ways to remind patients to take their medicine instead of misleading advertisements. I would say the impacts of the promotion is higher than the benefits.
