The year is 3031… Except it’s not really 3031. In fact, it’s not really any year because the government decided that civilians knowing the year apparently gives us too much power. All records and calendars were ordered to be destroyed back in 2020. Back then, the Ancients tried to continue keeping track of the years and for decades they were successful. However, as the Ancients started dying out, their decedents cared less and less about the year. Now, only the top scientists and high ranked government officials are allowed to know the date and they’re not permitted to tell anyone. Diplo knows the year. He doesn’t know the exact date but his father told him that it is somewhere during the 10th month. Diplo’s father is an astronomer, who also happens to be a rule breaker. …show more content…
